Yesterday morning at 5am I watched a 3.17 minute YouTube clip of Libby Trickett swimming freestyle. I then watched it again. I noticed one thing immediately that I was doing wrong. As I reach forward with my stroke I reach diagonally across my head. Libby Trickett keeps her arms straight so they come through the water beside her body far more efficiently.
When I got to the pool I put this technique into practice. I noticed an improvement in how I moved through the water and I wasn’t twisting my body. I’m definitely going to study stroke on YouTube again.
Had a great swim yesterday. Stuck with my 60 laps and cut one minute from my time. Totally happy with that.
I love having goals. I don’t care if I’m the slowest swimmer in the pool as long as I’m improving with stroke, distance and pace.
