Focus on the positives

It’s very easy to get caught up in all that is bad in your life. In doing this, you are missing out on all that is good. Celebrate the people who love and support you instead of the ones who don’t. They shouldn’t even appear on your radar.

This is also important with your quest for good health and fitness. I hate walking hills. So I started on flat terrain. I am now willing to walk small inclines and will continue to challenge myself.

I was very self conscious about how I looked in active wear. But here’s the thing – it is the most comfortable clothing to wear while exercising. Maybe some people look at me while I’m walking and judge me, but I no longer care. I know in my heart I am courageous. Dr Seuss says “those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind”. So if you look at me and mind, keep walking, because I don’t care.

When you are overweight and lacking in confidence, THIS IS HARD. The best way to turn that around is to start. One step at a time. Then the next.

My son is autistic and yes he has some challenges, but, he has so many strengths. We help him build up those strengths and they help him overcome his challenges.

The best thing happened yesterday. My daughter hugged me and said you’re getting skinny Mum my hands can touch.
